Adam Wu

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Adam (Jie) Wu holds a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Science, 2015), a master’s degree (Master of Engineering Leadership, 2017), and a Doctorate (Doctor of Philosophy, 2021), all obtained from UBC. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher co-supervised by Prof. Scott Renneckar and Prof. Jack Saddler. Adam’s Ph.D. work focuses on repurposing the mechanical pulping technique into a pretreatment/front-end for an enzyme-based biorefinery process.

As a member of the Energy Reduction in Mechanical Pulping (ERMP) research program, Adam’s current research goal aims at adding value to the mechanical pulping-derived byproducts (pulp fines), through chemo-enzymatic approaches, with the hope of displacing conventional fossil-based products.
